Let's see, shall we, what this week had in stall for me...

...beginning with Monday, the first day of every week, of course.

................................................................................................................

Met up with dar at 4-ish in the afternoon. I recall vaguely that i was in the mood for some swings, slides, and playground fun and where else to go but Pasir Ris Park. It was an extremely HOTday. I was perspiring like a pig. Compared to last time, the slides and all didnt have their thrill factor anymore. Whoever built slides made of metal has gotta be a real "genius" because metallic surfaces only produces friction, hindering your asses from sliding off the surface with ease.

N nopes, it wasnt because me and dar, being over-aged kids, were too heavy (or fat) to slide down coz even pre-school kids had to drag their tiny bums down the long winding METALLIC slide! How cumbersome. To think i went through all the trouble to climb up that spider maze only to discover that i couldnt treat myself to a fulfilling ride down the slide. Poor kids.

Well at least the swings made my day.

Rode down to Old Airport FC for dinner thereafter. Waited for Nig to arrive. Chatted for quite a long while, longer than i expected.

TUESDAY.

Dar came over to my place first thing in the morning.

Chef Chung cooked pasta for me!

There was certainly an improvement from his first attempt BUT somehow, the linguinne just didnt absorb the flavours of the ingredients, rendering it bland.

But its alright. My kitchen is and will always be open for you and most importantly, I still love you ma. He Heh.

After much cooking sessions with dar, i've come to realise that we both cannot work together in the kitchen. Its either he cooks and i wash up or i cook and he washes up. There's never a we cook and we wash up together because..... i really dont know why but it just doesnt work out right between us. Ha Ha. Its just like a battery you know. In order for a torch to light up, the batteries have to be fitted in opposite directions. The + charge has to be paired with the -ve and vice versa.

yadayadayadah

Its not much of a problem anyway. We still enjoy our baking/cooking sessions together. Dont we? =P

................................................................................................................

WEDNESDAY.

Let's see, i planned on working out at the gym but didnt bcoz i was far too lazy to get outta bed.

The initial plan was to have lunch at Toa Payoh Lor 2's FC (carrot cake cravings) but sth cropped up and a change of plans it was.

Found some time to send my HP for servicing too. Service there was terrible but wtheck, my phone was heating up and i needed it fixed. I wouldnt wana use my phone n have it explode in my hands, ears, face or in my bag. Which kinda reminds me of those exploding handphone cases from legal tutorials. LOL.

Dimsum Buffet for late lunch. Tot we'd give this place a shot.

I do not like it when restaurants disallow you to reject their condiments and worse still, levy them as compulsory charges into your total bill. If you're charging me $1-$2 for that measly plate of peanuts, i'd close an eye, but for $3, that's not being fair. BOO.

Anyway, the dimsum items here were pretty average. They turned out looking different from what i envisaged in my mind (based on their food descriptions). Nothing really stood out, except maybe for the fried prawn and mango roll. Heh.

Desserts later at night. We each had mango sago from Ji De Chi, Liang Seah Street outlet.

I personally prefer this over Ah Chew's. I find Ah Chew's Desserts a little overrated.

................................................................................................................

THURSDAY.

Went for a run with dar at ECP today. Ran for less than 15 mins and dar decided to call it a day. Haha!

Rode off to Onan Road for Prawn Mee. Followed by a movie session at The Cathay later in the afternoon.

We bought tickets for The Incredible Hulk. Sneaked in a Strawberry + White Choc + Almonds crepe from Saybons into the theatre while dar had a large pack of ruffles all to himself. 3 letters, F.A.T

N we werent the only ones having a "picnic" inside. Next to us was this couple who apparently, sneaked in their lunch from subway, calbee and Jack & Jill titbits. That's not so bad, its quite normal actually, considering that we once brought in pizza during my JC school days! I really wonder how we even managed to squeeze it into a bag.

................................................................................................................

FRIDAY.

In case you've lost track, yes, that is TODAY.

I spent the afternoon baking a tiramisu for dad on Father's Day. N as requested, i lowered the alcohol/liquer content. Will only serve it on Sunday. Cant wait.

Met up with dar later in the evening. Rode down to Ikea Tampines to accompany dar in his scout for a cupboard. Before that, we grabbed Ikea's Hotdog Buns as we were already on the verge of dying from hunger.

Dinner at Amoy. Tot of having Cze Char over there. Its been a long while since i last had their yummilicious San Lao and Omelette.

Sadly, that Cze Char stall has since relocated, only to be replaced by a new Cze Char vendor.

Eitherway, we tot we'd still give it a shot. Ordered San Lao and a Fried Prawn Omelette to share.

The hor fun was a little hard to chew on but overall, pretty decent. Dont you just lurve the charred pieces of kway teow? I lurve them to bits and pieces. Full of wok hei flavour. Awesome.

As for the omelette, dar felt that it tended to the wet/soggy side. Onions come with it too. If i'd known, i would have requested for them to not add onions at all. Despite it, the omelette still exuded the eggy taste which i truely enjoyed.

................................................................................................................

N that's about it.

XOXO

PS. I just found out from Wikipedia that XOXO actually denotes Hugs & Kisses. Yes, i'm sucha "mountain tortoise". Laugh all you want. N after watching episode after episode of Gossip Girl, you cant help but get influenced to use it right? Hahah.
