So Thursday was an entire day well spent with my fatty.
Its not very often we get time off like this ya know.
Where was i?
OoH, we wasted our morning snoozing away lazily in bed. Me, the not-so-heavy sleeper, got up first to watch Prison Break 3 while the fatty's kooning, away, still.
Lunched at Golden Mile FC. We had Pork Ribs and Fish & Chips from Taste.N.C. They were featured on Channel 8's variety programme, Buzzing Cashier, quite some time ago and recently, got awarded a certificate for his well-maintained food standards.
There's really nothing much to rave about. The ribs were so-so. The sauce was a ltitle too sourish/salty/tangy (argh i cant make up my mind) for my liking. It just didnt go well for me, period.
Fatty's Fish & Chips took FOREVER to arrive. Tastewise, pretty average. How bad can fried fish possibly get?
In fact, fatty was pissed off with their lou-ya-pok attitude and service. The chef wasnt very flexible either. Fatty requested for his seafood marinara to be done aglio style instead but the chef refused to do so. N most of their food items werent available that afternoon as the chef himself wanted to concentrate solely on dishing out his specialty pork ribs, which were in high demand after its debut on the big screen.
I dont think i'd be heading back here anytime soon, or perhaps, ever again.
Caught Iron Man after that disastrous lunch. Alot of comedy, not so much action, but all in all, a pretty good show. N never ever sit at Row P, of The Grand Cathay, without your winter jackets, gloves and scarves. Its freezing cold down there!
Rode down to Bugis later in the evening. Uzumaki, the Japanese ice-cream joint, also serves ice-creams with a variety of mix-ins for u to choose from! Nah, im not fascinated by it, its like a another imitation of Ice-Cream Chef. Cold Rock, Frolick, IceKimo, what else have we got? At least they aint sprouting up everywhere like how donut shops are these days.
Anyway, we had dinner at Crystal Jade's La Mian Xiao Long Bao. We had Xiao Long Baos (DUH!), fried beancurd skin with prawns, fried pork ribs (yes ribs again, i still prefer the western version), and lots more other stuff which i cant rmb. Everything tasted mediocore. Which kinda explains why they didnt leave a very lasting impression on me. My only gripe? Too much oil.
N before that, we had yakitori sticks from Tori-Q. I love love love their Pork Tontoro sticks! The more fats the merrier! YUM.
Felt extremely FULL and SICK from all those ribs, meat, and oil. NO MORE RIBS for the next one month. I need to exercise. Anyone wants to be my jogging buddy? Preferably someone who has a running stamina like me. Muahahha.
