My body clock needs some fixing. Last night, i woke up at 4.44am ( based on my hp clock) and as much as i tried, cldnt get back to sleep thereafter. Hate it. Hate it. Hate it.
Anyway, i brought grandma to her favourite hangout (Toa Payoh) for lunch and some grocery shopping. We had lunch at lorong one's market/FC. I had a bowl of century egg lean meat porridge while grandma had the very nice carrot cake from "green mountain"! The carrot cake here is one of the bestest carrot cake ive ever tried. A must try for all carrot cake and non-carrot cake lovers like me! Muahaha. No joke, its really good. No, fucking good!
Below are pictures of the stall and carrot cake itself. They were taken during me and dar's lunch visit quite some time back. Now you know why i call it the very nice carrot cake from "GREEN MOUNTAIN?" He heh
How to get there: Take a train or any bus that goes to Toa Payoh Interchange. From there, take bus number 231 (White Plate) and alight at the third stop. The Market/Fc is on the opposite side. Its a few stories building. Very prominent. One shouldnt miss it.
After a satisfying lunch, grandma and me queued up for donuts. Just teasing! We queued up to buy the pretty well-known handmade paus from a particular stall in the FC itself. The char siew bao is uber shiok but given its puny size, one can easily consume 5 or more at one go.
Word of advice: Handle with care. Thou shall not be tempted by mini char siew baos.
Walked to the nearby HDB neighbourhood estates as grandma wanted to collect her tailored blouse from some friend. The lift of BLK 142 travels at a very impressive speed! Try taking or even waiting for dar's house lifts and you'l know how different they can be. =P
Took the feder bus back to the interchange. Grocery shopped at Auntie Lucy's. Bought a few stuff before heading back home as grandma still had to prepare dinner for us all.
Oh yeah, tomorrow, sentosa and heart shaped waffles! Wheeee!
