Accompanied dar to the hairdresser's today. The wait was definitely much shorter than the previous visit. Dar looks like an army boy once again. Haha. But seriously, short medium length hair suits you better. Forget the long hair. I dont need another F4 look alike.
Lunch'ed together at Tanjong Pagar Food Centre before we went our seperate ways. I had King's Fish Soup today!
They have the addition of shredded FRIED FISH EGGS, which are sinfully good, too! Rather then using the cheaper Dory for the fried fish, they use fresh Batang for better flavour. The cantonese style fish soup is also free of MSG. Go try it!
Dar had Lor Mee. The uncle still is as forgetful as before. Dar told him specifically not to add cut chili and garlic but for some reason, his brain just couldnt register such simple instructions. Well, one thing he remembered, no vinegar. LOL. Perhaps they could allow customers to self-help next time. =)
For desserts, dar had Annie's peanut ice-kachang. I believe that you do know that Annie's is indeed the original inventor of peanut ice-kachang. In my opinion, there's really nothing very special about peanut ice-kachang, which kinda made me wonder how people were willing to patiently queue up for several minutes just to have a taste of Annie's peanut ice-kachang, Instead of purchasing peanuts from a supplier, Annie actually prepares freshly roasted ground peanuts daily. Passion like this is what makes the difference. =)
The reason why i chose to lunch at Tanjong Pagar was because i was craving for some Chocolat & Spice muffins! But sadly, they were closed! Since Chewy Junior was located right next door, why not just purchase a chewy cream puff? Ive always wanted to try these eversince Pijjie blogged about it months ago but have yet to do so due to busy schedules.
Bought an oreo flavoured chewy. haha.
Notice that they do have chocolate custard fillings inside? Yikes. I dont like custard at all. If its thick velvety chocolate/peanut butter, hell yeah. Chocolate is sex. Muahaha.
The verdict: Hard as a rock! It was like war with a cream puff. A complete mess i say. Dar thinks im gonna ban it. But... nope... i've decided to give Chewy Junior another go. This time, im going to eat it immediately, upon purchase, on the spot. If it still is as hard as a rock, then, goodbye Chewy Junior. Hahaha. Meanie.
Its really scary to learn that donut shops are just sprouting up everywhere! In every little corner, every neighbourhood, every possible place, EVERYWHERE! ArGHH! I love donuts. That's a fact. But to see them everywhere i go kinda makes me sick. A big joke if they ever become another bubble tea/roti boy and what not. -_-!
