Another Makan outing with my beloved family members once again. I'm Lovin' it!
Headed straight home after church to meet the rest of the makan-kakis. Uncle drove us to Tam Kah, at Chinatown, for dinner.
This dinner was scheduled for saturday night but as there were no available tables that night, my family members had no choice but to postpone it to Sunday, Today! My eyes immediately lit up upon hearing from my aunt that the dinner had been changed to tonight. God is indeed gracious!
We reached our destination at around 6pm. We were urshered to a table upstairs. I was surprised to find mini curry poks with sweet peanut fillings on the table.
Its certainly my first time coming across this as most places i dine at usually serve plain old peanuts. Dont belittle the curry poks ok, they sure are addictive. I couldnt stop at one, two or three!
For dinner, my uncle ordered 4 dishes. We had a superior seafood tingy (i cant rmb the name!) which contained lots and lots of ingredients like abalone, mushrooms, beancurd, scallops, chicken wings, sea cucumber, veggies and many many more! If im not wrong, this dish alone cost $48. Freaky.
We also had a meat platter! haha. I forgot the name of this dish as well. But basically, there was roasted pork, char siew and soya sauce chicken.
Everything was fantastic. Tthe raosted pork was exceedingly salivatingly gooood. The skin was uber crispy and the meat, succulent, tender, juicy and sweet. Mamamia.
For the next 2 dishes, we had green veggies and a mushroom deluxe! haha. I forgot the name of the mushroom dish again. LOL.
The taste was there, the quality was there, there's basically nothing to complain about.
The rice served here is of top grade as well. The grains are seperate and QQ! Nice! Unlike other restaurants which serve rice that has taken the shape of a bowl, Tam Kah acty flattens their rice!
Dont ask me why bcoz i really have no idea y they do that!
Uncle Kenny, Aunty Keng and my Grandma!
Dinner was light, I could still get out of my comfy chair with ease. Which is good! haha. Went for dessert at Ji De Chi, which is located just a few shops away from Tam kah.
This shop specialises in hong kong style desserts and are similar to those served in Ah chew desserts at Liang Seah Street or the other dessert house located along Temple Street.
We ordered a cold doubled boiled egg dessert in original flavour, a steamed milk almond egg white dessert, papaya white fungus soup, 2 bowls of tang yuans, almond paste for my grandma, and black sesame paste for me! Everything tasted great.
I enjoyed my dinner very much and i hope all of you had a wonderful dinner as well. Not forgetting, a blessed Mothers' Day to all Mothers!
